Material/product testing laboratories are qualified for mechanical, metallographic and chemical testing of metals, alloys and metal products, rubber, fuel and lubricant characteristics testing, non-destructive testing of materials and specific tests. Within them, there are top opportunities for wide-range testing and certification of materials through:

  1. Testing of chemical composition of metals using modern methods of analysis: atomic absorption spectrophotometry, infrared absorption, electron microscopy, quantometry and gas chromatography;
  2. Determination of physical characteristics of fuels and oils; kinematic viscosity, flash point, density, corrosivity, impurity content in the liquid, determination of TAN;
  3. Quality testing of protective (metallic, non-metallic and plasma) coatings: thickness, elasticity, hardness, adhesion, corrosion and impact resistance;
  4. Testing the characteristics of rubber sealing material;
  5. Determination of mechanical characteristics of materials: strength, tensile strength, hardness (all standardized methods and microhardness), toughness, testing of materials at elevated temperatures, creep tests, compression, bending;
  6. Testing of metallographic structure and microstructure with sample preparation, microscopy and microstructure analysis
  7. Non-destructive testing of materials and parts using X-ray flaw detection - standard and microfocus, ultrasonic flaw detection, eddy current flaw detection and penetrators;
  8. Process and stuff certifications: attestation of welders and etc;

A significant segment of laboratories are also development testing laboratories. Their work includes testing the reliability of components, assemblies and systems by subjecting them to pre-prescribed conditions.
