Training Sessions Held at “Orao” for EASA Certification – Alignment with European and Global Standards

At the company “Orao” a.d. Bijeljina, mechanical aerospace engineer Rade Savić, a graduate of the Air Force Academy in Belgrade, conducted a multi-day series of lectures for employees of the Bijeljina-based company. The training covered legal regulations, aircraft hangars and aircraft maintenance, as well as aircraft engine and component maintenance, with the aim of achieving EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) certification.

Savić, who also holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, stated that this was his third visit to “Orao” and that the purpose of the training is to align the company’s operations with European Union regulations and to open new opportunities for future business in the aviation industry.

“During my several-day stay at ‘Orao’, we covered topics related to hangars and aircraft, aircraft engines and their maintenance, maintenance procedures and inspections of electrical installations on engines, as well as foreign object damage (FOD) in aircraft engines. In addition, we discussed the legal regulations governing all of these areas. The employees at ‘Orao’ are outstanding, and the level of expertise here is very high,” Savić said.

The General Manager of “Orao” a.d. Bijeljina, Marko Mrkajić, emphasized that obtaining EASA certification opens new opportunities for cooperation on the European and global markets.

“The company ‘Orao’ updates its aviation certifications on an annual basis, and our strategy is focused on manufacturing parts and supplying foreign markets, not only producing for internal use. Cooperation with aerospace engineers from the Air Force Academy in Belgrade represents integration into global aviation trends, allowing us to further improve our expertise and maintain our reputation as one of the most experienced aviation companies in the Balkans,” Mrkajić said.

Since its establishment in 1944, “Orao” a.d. Bijeljina has gone through all phases of development in its core activity — aircraft engine overhaul. Today, it is a highly organized industrial system equipped with state-of-the-art technology and supported by strong human resources, specializing in the production and overhaul of all types of turbojet engines.
