“Orao” Celebrated Its Patron Saint’s Day – Saint Longinus the Martyr

The company “Orao” a.d. Bijeljina celebrated, for the first time, its patron saint’s day – Saint Longinus the Martyr, after receiving a blessing from His Eminence, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Zvornik-Tuzla, Fotije. The ceremonial breaking of the slava bread was held in the Church of Saint Panteleimon the Great Martyr, attended by the company’s management.

Following the religious ceremony, the clergy extended their blessings to the company “Orao” and its employees, wishing them many more years to honor and remember Saint Longinus – the first officer who, after the suffering of Christ, laid down his military uniform and turned away from the world for the sake of God.

The celebration of “Orao’s” patron saint’s day was held on the eve of October 30th – the company’s anniversary, marking 81 years since its founding and continuous operation in the aviation and aerospace industry.

Since its establishment in 1944 in Pančevo, the company “Orao” has undergone all phases of development in its core business – aircraft engine overhaul. Today, it operates as a highly organized system equipped with state-of-the-art technology and strong human resources capable of performing maintenance and production of all types of turbojet engines.

Since 1996, following the Defence and Homeland War during which “Orao” employees took part and made great sacrifices for freedom, the company has been relocated from Rajlovac to Bijeljina, where it continues to operate today with several hundred employees, including technicians, engineers, and doctors of science.
