“ORAO” at the International Defence Exhibition EDEX in Cairo
The delegation of the company “ORAO” a.d. Bijeljina is participating in the International Defence Exhibition EDEX in Cairo, which opened today and will run until December 4. Marko Mrkajić, Director of “ORAO,” stated that such exhibitions provide opportunities to establish connections with business partners from around the world.
Mrkajić emphasized that, following ORAO’s notable appearance at the International Arms and Military Equipment Fair “Partner 2025” in Belgrade, the company continues to promote its expertise and long-standing knowledge in the aviation industry.
“The EDEX exhibition in Cairo will enable us to establish contacts over four days with representatives of defence ministries from many countries, as well as with other companies operating in the defence and military industry. We are fully aware that ORAO’s more than 80 years of experience and the expertise of its workforce represent a significant advantage, and we can expect discussions regarding new engagements,” Mrkajić noted.
He added that the company “ORAO” will be exhibiting at EDEX in partnership with Tehnički Remont Bratunac.
EDEX is one of the most significant global events, bringing together the world’s leading companies in the field of defence and security, as well as the most renowned manufacturers of weapons and military equipment.
ORAO was founded in Pančevo in 1944 as a workshop for the repair of aircraft engines and was relocated to Rajlovac in 1949. Over the following decades, it progressed through all technological and technical stages of overhaul activities for piston and jet engines. After the Defence–Homeland War, ORAO was relocated to Bijeljina and today operates as a joint-stock company employing several hundred workers.
Within its operational sectors, “ORAO” a.d. Bijeljina works in accordance with the highest standards and accreditations awarded by world-renowned aviation companies, such as the British Rolls-Royce and the Canadian Pratt & Whitney.
